Recruiter Reaches One Year Work Anniversary with AstraWorks

Andrew Wakeman, Technical Recruiter specializing in the Power & Renewables industry, recently celebrated his first full year with AstraWorks. Andrew graduated from the University of Missouri in 2019. Eager to get a head start he began working several months prior to graduation.

What do you find most interesting about working in the Power & Renewables industry?

What I find fascinating about Power & Renewables is the wide scope of applications and people and how they all come together with the main goal of providing safe and reliable power for communities.

As a relatively new college graduate, do you have any advice for other college graduates trying to start their careers?

In general, I would say be open-minded. I think in many disciplines, college can shape a narrow view of what is possible. As a new college graduate, be open to varying career paths, ventures, or fields. Specifically, within the Power industry there is such a large variation in positions and project types that the opportunities are vast. In any situation, be ready to learn and take advantage of the offers presented to you.
